Personal background
Born in Germany, i live in South Florida, USA.

I STOPPED RUNNING SETI@HOME DUE TO THE FACT THAT MOST OF THE WU DO NOT EVEN GET UPLOADED AFTER THEY ARE DONE, BECAUSE SEVERAL USERS RECEIVED THE VERY SAME WU AND FINISHED THEM FASTER. SO WHERE IS THE POINT IN RUNNING THE PROGRAM?! SO MUCH CPU POWER WASTED, THE WU SHOULD NOT GO OU
T TO ANOTHER USER UNLESS 2 MUCH TIME PASSED!
Well, i know they try to free some space on the seti@home server, however i think it is wasted cpu power the way it is practised right now!
I have not seen an option to cancel my user account on this website, i hope inactivity will do.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am certain that there is (intelligent) life out there beside ourselfes. I even think that life is a very common feature in the universe. However, i think the distances are just to great to expect radio impulses or even messages.

But i hope for this possibility:
If other lifeforms developed a lot earlier to a state comparable to ours today then we did, then there is hope to receive a message from them. But by the time the signal arrives here, that civilization is probably long gone. Well, at least that would be proof, right? That is why i participate in this program. At least we are listening.

Meanwhile i wonder about intelligent life on earth.. (ignorance, arrogance, war, religious and/or political fanatism, etc.)
