| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I first discovered SETI@home when I was working for Dell in Austin, TX in 1999. I noticed this fascinating program running on many of the screens in the tech support call center, and once I found out what it was, I loaded it on both my work systems and my machine at home. I believe we are not alone in the universe (I mean, how could WE be it?), and I support and applaud efforts to search and discover what might be out there. Considering the lack of interest governments seems to have in science that might prolong or enrich life (not enough money left over after spending for bombs and missiles and such, I guess), I think it's great for the citizens of the planet to be able to help positive discovery to continue. |
