Profile: Dragoon

Personal background
I live in Ohio, and have always been a huge fan of science fiction. I hope to help SETI find what they need to by clearing out false signals, as it is my bleif that if we ever find ET life, it wont be for quite some time - say 500 years, at least? Currently I'm a student(with various part-time stuff), so SETI is a great thing to have running when I study and dont otherwise use my computer. I'm also a big anime freak, a writer of fanfiction, and an amature artist. I run two websites as of current, and someday I hope to be a master programmer, or some other big paying job.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1 - Yes, I beleive that ET life is out there, and as to how we'll discover it? Prolly allong the lines of this : We find the location of there solar system, which will be God only knows how far away, and then send a signal providing information about ourselves, our language, and our culture, but nothing of significant military importance, in case these aliens ain't friendly. Benefits : Possible technology, possibility of getting brought into a intersteller alliance(in case ETs are finding eachother), proof to those who live in doubt. Dangers : Aliens being hostile, humans reacting irrationally in the face of first contact.
2 - Yes, we should send basic information about our language, culture, and appearence. No anatomical information or information of strategic locations, due to the possiblelity of hostile contanct. Make it like a "travellers pocket handbook to you first trip to Earth".
