Profile: Jonathon Sedlacek

Personal background
My name is Jonathon H. M. Sedlacek. I am a 16 year old home schooled high school student. I have always been interested in space, and like all kids, I dreamed of being an astronaut. I have never been abducted, and have no problem with people who say they have. I figure that they would know better than I would. Currently my only hobby is autograph collecting. I now have over 180 autographs, including signed pictures from Buzz Aldrin, Gene Cernan, and Alan B. Shepard, Jr. I also enjoy listening to music. I mainly like Classic Rock. My favorite band is Pink Floyd. They have the album, "Dark Side of The Moon," which is my favorite. Like they say, " Pink Floyd, still first in space." Other than my music, and my autographs, there is nothing else exiting about me. All that is left to say is, God Bless America!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think extraterrestrial life exists. I mean, is it at all possible that in all of space,(which is so big that when I think about it to hard I get a headache), there is NO life other than the life on our little planet. In my personal opinion, there has to be something intelligent out there. I think that if there is life out there that we will discover it by 2020. I think that once we get more "in depth" studies on Mars, that we will find that there was once life there. All we have to do to discover it is get out there and look. I understand that it is easier said than done, but I think that searching is the only way to find life. I don't think it will just come to us. In my eyes there could be many benefits, and dangers of such a discovery. Some of the benefits would be that we may find some information on the formation of the universe that we may not have known yet, or if it is intelligent life, they could give us there views on the universe. It boggles my mind to think that on another planet, they could be doing a program just like this, and someone could be typing something similar to this! Some of the dangers are, what if we discover a bacteria type of like. If we bring it back to Earth, and it gets out, it could make the extinction of the human race. Or if it is intelligent life, and they don't want to hear our views, it could cause a war of some kind.
