I'm an actuary. How appropriate is it that an actuary, who studies the mathematics of death (life?) should be interested in the mathematics of studying alien signals. Boy that's an ugly picture.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We run SETI on at least 4 computers at a time. Do I believe there is ET out there? Probably, but probably some minute organism that we will never be able to detect in my lifetime. Do I want ET to be discovered by SETI? Probably not? The looking may be better than the finding.
