Profile: Broadcast West Technical

Personal background
I’m a radio engineer from Vancouver BC. I get to fling radio frequencies in to the atmosphere in all sorts of different bands so I thought this would be a great way to see if anyone is answering! (haha..)

But seriously think about it, in the division of the company I work in we have 16 FM signals on the air with the highest output being 75,000 Watts and a combined output at one of our transmitter sites up over 2,000,000 Watts!! That’s a whole hell of a lot of radio!

Now start to figure in microwave band uplinks (some that run very close to SETI frequencies) AM Radio, VHF 2 Way, and everything else we use in broadcasting, it only makes sense that other intelligent life would utilize radio as a means to communicate.
