| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I think just looking at the the size and age of our universe, is more than enough evidence to say that we are not alone. Going with that view, I do understand that making contact with another life form in the universe is slim, but that is not a reason to not try. That is not a reason to say it is impossible. There have been a lot of people in history that have used the word impossible and it is thrown out the window with all we have have learned and the technology we have today.
I do believe we will find we are not alone in this universe and I hope to be alive when that discovery is made, hopefully with an intelligent life form. And that is why I run SETI. Because I want to be a part of that discovery. Using this project allows me to be part of that, even if just a small part. |
