Personal background
I am a graphic & web designer living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most of what I know I learned through reading, trial & error, and some coaching from friends. I always enjoy creating new visual pieces for design, original artwork, or even video for live mixed video performances. My musical interests include Punk Rock and most electronic sub-genres with strong emphasis on Drum & Bass, Techno, & Psy-Trance. Though, generally speaking I enjoy all electronic music .. anything that really moves me. I am also actively involved with promotion and production of the electronic music scene locally (Pittsburgh) and regionally (West Virginia & DC area). Most of my efforts in design and video are often directed toward the electronic music scene.

I have always had a dream of being the first person to deliver a human baby in space. Whether or not I will accomplish this all depends on my will to succeed. I am currently not in school for this path, however I am still young. Regardless of whether or not I succeed, I am confident that it will happen. I feel this is a completely viable vision considering the path human beings are taking in space research and exploration. However, major barriers for us as a species include a lack of social enlightenment and restrictions on the space program by executive government officials.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The theoretical statistics and odds of extraterrestrial life are simply overwhelming. To think that we are the only sentient beings in the universe, let alone our galaxy, is wholly pretentious. However, the odds are still great (in our current technological infancy) that we may not find intelligent life locally .. at least not within the life span of the current generation(s) of humans on Earth.

I do believe that radio monitoring is a very useful tool and could yield solid evidence of extraterrestrial life. Projects like SETI and SETI@Home are truly bold and special undertakings. I am very honored to do my part in the SETI@Home project, however minute yet vital it is. I sincerely hope that SETI and/or projects like it continue to thrive. The benefits of such programs (especially if they succeed) far out weigh the disadvantages.

The ultimate benefit I envision for our first contact or proof of extraterrestrial life would be a greater understanding of our station as human beings on our planet. It could lead to a truly enlightened global society functioning as one. I think that more people today believe that the possibility for other world life exists than in previous years. I am thankful for this truth as it can only mean a possitive future for space exploration and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
