Personal background
I live in Boston, just as I have for far too long.

I work with these weird "computer" things, and spend far too much time reading or making a poor attempt at playing guitar.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If the universe is truly infinite, as many scientists postulate, the chance of Earth being the only planet on which intelligent life has evolved are zero.

I think the biggest danger of discovering proof of extraterrestrial life is that it won't be as advanced as us, and, being human, we destroy it because we don't understand it (the people with the biggest guns tend also to be the ones with the smallest brains).

I run SETI@home because I think it's the only way of the general public finding out about proof of extraterrestrials (whether or not the government has this proof, they certainly wouldn't let it be common knowledge).
