| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I think that extraterrestial life, or even other civilisations, should exist somewhere, because if it doesn't and if Earth is the only in huge Universe planet life exists on, it would be an enourmous waste of space :D
If we'd like to contact with other thinking species in space we must transmit signals which will be readable anywhere in the space and describes the Universe - for example the model of hydrogen atom (as it is the main element in space), the value of critical density of space (the value which decides about future of the Universe), the value of Pi, primes etc.
I run SETI@home quite a long time and don't exactly know why :) Maybe I'd only like to make my computer useful when it's idle, but now I often turn it on even when I won't use it - just for running SETI :) I think that there should be more sources of signal to use in the project (especcialy for southern hemisphere). |
