Hi! My name is Florian Mycka. I am a 25-years-old male from Germany. I'm now studying Informatics at the University of Applied Science Karlsruhe. I love anything around PCs and electronics/technique. I also love cats and they love me too ;). I'm a StarTrek-Fan, like to watch Sci-Fi, Action and horror-movies.
My wish is:
- getting a great programmer
- making a lot of money
- finding a nice woman to marry (done)
- getting 2 children
- be able to buy them anything the want
- have a lucky and very long life
- see a StarTrek-like future (looking forwards to it) |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
to 1) Of course! The galaxy is so big - we are definitely NOT ALONE. Well, first, we should solve our problems on earth (hunger, war, money). Then we should all work together, discover some now energy sources, building star ships and when we will find them. Maybe they won't look like humans, I'm very sure they don't.
Benefits: New technology, knowledge, the absolute knowledge, that we are not alone.
Dangers: Hmm... they can be aggressive, but today I would say, we are afraid of these unexpected, that we are the aggressors. Sorry, but humans have to learn something!
to 2) Beacon to send? Well, we have send one, and we are sending a lot of information along with radio and TV signals. Maybe we have send a wrong image of us and no extraterrestrials like us - and if they still like us, government and church don't tell us.... think about it!
to 3) I'm running Seti@home, 'cause I believe in extraterrestrial life. I will help to find them. This is a way, I can do something. I only regret, that I have Seti only 4 years running and not more... IMHO, Seti is a very good idea and its also a very good thing, that people like you and me can help calculating this data. This saves a lot time and money. More people should join Seti@home... its a good thing.
