| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I belive that extraterrestrial life exists, its just a matter of how developed it is. There may be plenty of goo out there that is technically "life" but im surious as to how much of it is actually intelligent. As a race we should be both recieving and sending messages. Simply looking into the heavens wont get us anywhere, we need to be calling out. Imagine if you are stuck on a mountain and people are searching for you. Wouldn't it be easier if you were both shouting instead of only one of you looking? Even if we hear no reply perhaps it will allow us to feel like we are being proactive in initiating contact. Until we find the voice to shout SETI is doing a great job of listening, waiting, and searching... always searching... |
