Do I believe in extraterrestrial Intelligence?
I have no proof nor evidence to make me believe that ET's do exist, however the absence of evidence is not an evidence of absence. Thus even though they might not exist, but considering the slim chance our world ever had to come into existence I find it a bit shallow to think that it can't happen again somewhere else.
Should we send a beacon?
Considering our current level of technology and how much resources we can, and want to, devote to sending a beacon into space the effort sounds like a waste to me. But also, since we're all searching for beacons sent by other civilizations, shouldn't we be sending one for those out there who are listening like we are?
Why do I run SETI@home?
Well, I have many computers running 24 hours so what da heck. Also, the screen saver looks really cool and it makes my PC look like it's doing something of genuine importance ;) |
