Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been doing SETI for a while now because I feel that the question that everyone wonders about (IS there life somewhere else?) is a very important one scientifically and therefore I will try and help solve it!

I do believe that SOMEWHERE out there extraterrestrial life does exist, however, I am not sure what they/IT will be like. I don't know if we will discover other life during my lifetime, but someday I think we will. It is more likely that they will find us, because my assumption is that if they are INTELLIGENT that they will be far beyond our technology, even as it is growing at this rapid rate!

There are always dangers in meeting new "people": conflict. Either way you look at it, something will probably go wrong ;o) I figure IF it is their first time to meet "another life" then it will be much worse because both sides will be very worried about the other being hostile. I figure there are two possibilities: 1) they want our resources or something we have or 2) they just want to find someone else as explorers, just like SETI is doing.

My only suggestion about the SETI project is that maybe some kind of return should be offered. I realize funds are tight, but even something as trivial as a hat or shirt, etc or a mailed out NICE certificate at say 5000(hat), 10000(Shirt), 20000(NICE Cert.), etc. This increases advertising and also makes users want to run it more. Incentives always create increased production!

Those are my thoughts, respond if you would like! ;o)
