Profile: Gary P. Yencich

Personal background
My point of origin is Seattle, Washington, USA, circa 1958. Think of the Space Needle, World's Fair, and Boeing jetliners cruising the sky. Most of my career has been in aviation, in the field of air traffic control. I've served in the U.S. Air Force, and presently work for the Federal Aviation Administration. But there's more to life than just work; hiking, gardening, motorcycling and flying are a few of my hobbies/interests. How about you?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm pleased for the opportunity to contribute to the Science of SETI, if only in a small way. I do feel that extraterrestrial life most likely exists. After all the universe is a big place, is it not? To believe we are the only life in such a vast cosmos, is to my way of thinking a little bit arrogant. Intelligent life is not likely to be as big and bright as a star, therefore it will be a little bit more difficult to find. Time will tell.
