Personal background
Hello i'm one of the dutch seti@home users. I work for the Dutch airforce as a avionics expert, i'm specialised in fotoreconnaissance equipment. One of my hobby's is scubadiving, poor visibility in Holland but you get used to it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm one of the many people who are conviced that there is extraterrestrial life, the universe is unlimited big so the chance for beeing alone is small. One way to discover this is joining the Seti@home program. I personally thing there are no dangers with such a discovery, there could be a danger if we are not aware of those extraterrestrial life. There should be a enormous amount of benefits with such a discovery, think about a clean energysource.
Humans should transmit a beacon, because there could be a similair Seti program on a other world looking for us. I run this program on my computer because if Seti@home discovers extraterrestrial life, i want to be one of the people who can say "I joined them".
