Profile: texadactyl

Personal background
I repatriated to the USA in 1998, currently a resident of Texas.

My vocation is and has always been software engineering of all sorts and machines, dating back to the 1960s. My favourite programming environment interfacing with hardware and in Assembly Language.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The odds against us being alone are so high that it is almost laughable to consider our intelligence as unique. Contacting them, however, in our current state of development, has its drawbacks. Imagine sentient beings observing our transmissions of all sorts from the last 100 years; what would they think about us?
