Hi!
My Name is jeremy collin & im from Norfolk in England."East Anglia" actualy,But dont hold that against me please!!!I live in a small coastal village by the sea, great in the summer, not quite so funny in the winter.!!!
Im 36, Just Divorced and an aspireing "well trying to be" Web Developer.
Hobbies.!! yeah love them, I fly Radio controlled Helicopters and Aircraft,.In the summer,My Jet ski, and My Beach Buggy are my spare time fun.!!!
Always loved looking at the stars watching satellites glide by and pretending they were ufo's..!! "who realy belives.. we are alone" !!!! NOT A CHANCE.!! all that space just for us..??? Yeah What Ever.

Struth ..The Questions are good.
Q1 Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
A1.. Hmmm well i would imagine that extraterrestrial life does exist but i would also wonder what could be perceived as "Life".To Answer No to the above would or does lead to even more Questions realy..The First and most obvoius would be, to me.. Why ? have all this space to our selves.?? Unless like a cheap housing project, one day in many many years time we will actualy of used it.??
Q2 Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
A2 i started to write "yes of course we should" and then started to think.!!
Its a toughy Realy.waiting to here back from somebody you not to sure if you will get on with.?Are we Big enough and cleverer enough to invite them.!! here and then if it all goes belly up tell them if it is THEM, er sorry changed our minds bye.?? My mum Always says "be careful what you wish for" You may get it.!!! As for what info we send.. a star chart would be good as in "we live here!!" some frequancys we use like "you can reach us on these numbers" and some how "this is what we look like" Roughly.!! I had thought maybe a DNA string but on reflection that could be a dreadful idea.!! once you know how to wipe out a bug you could wipe them all out i guess.!!
Q3 Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
A3 I am Personaly very excited in a nice way, about the chance that in my life time we could make intelligible contact with another life force.. It could be Nice to have neighbours with a faster car than we have etc, then again,.. it could be hell.!! We cant yet sort out our own Chronic illnesses and diseases
so how would we cope with somthing non human.?? That must be given a thought.!!
As for the seti project especially the @home project i think its a fantastic idea, and much much needed, using home pc's to h |
