| I have been 'boincing' for a while - it is a major interest of mine. A civil engineer from Sydney, Australia. Hence why this whole science thing appeals to me :) |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I had been running the original Seti 'Classic' for a long time - loved the concept, and was always having my fingers crossed, hoping to discover Darth Vader! However, I realised that even if the project does not detect any signs of intelligence 'out there', the results that researchers obtain from this project, will help gain an insight into distributed computing, what works, does not work, help understand more efficient processes, and a better understanding of whats 'out there' with respect to 'data in the sky'.
Also, the statistics of SETI are addictive - I am trying to rise through the ranks! |
