Personal background
Erm... I'm sixteen from East Sussex in England. My computer spends to much on doing nothing but downloading of iMesh so this seemed like a good idea.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Aliens almost definately do exist but their exsistance has little relavence to us. Even if there were extraterrestrial life the chances are that the would be basic organisms. Even if they were advanced enough to build spaceships they wouldn't be able to come to Earth because of the distance involved. The fastest that antthing can travel is light speed, at this speed objects obtain infinite mass and cannot accelerate any more. This would mean that a space ship would have to spend millions of years travelling to our planet - something that is not viasable as it ould run out of supplies, break down or be damaged etc. In addition to this we aren't even close to light speed and aliens are unlikely to be able to approach that sort of speed either.
Radio Waves are the next most viasable method of communication but even that would take millions of years to reach us and will get substantial interence.

We might as well tranmitt a beacon to aliens, there's always a chance and it's not likely to any harm. The message should really only be a a short sound sequence like what blue did for thta satilite.

I run SETI@Hom becasue... well I dunno. I guess because the UD client doesn't work on my machine. :-(
