Personal background
I'm a 19 year old student @ Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University studying Aeronautical Science. When I'm on the ground I'm either doing something with my Fraternity Sigma Pi, working for the school as a webmaster, or going to student gov't board meetings. Since school is out for the summer now I got another job at Blockbuster and read a lot in my spare time. I'm taking summer flight classes so that I can continue my training over the summer as well. I love to fly and wouldn't mind making some money out of it. Those books I read and the movies and TV I do watch usually relate to science or some really thought provoking questions about everything.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love science and thought provoking questions. The real intersting stuff is that which is controversial, new, and impossible. This type of research and reasoning is what has brought our human race so far. From the idea of the Earth not being the center of the universe to the splitting of the atom. These things have brought us so far and were so controversial and impossible at the time. I can only hope that SETI will fall into this category someday and broaden our horizons to new unimaginable and impossible ideas. This continues to be my dream...

Statistically, I believe there is absolutely other life in the universe. Even if it was a freak chance that the primordial soup from which we all came, there are so many trillions of other chances out in the universe for it also to exist that I can not deny the possibility. If such life does exist, however, the odds are even smaller that it will be intelligent, that is self-aware and able to learn. But the possiblity does exist and I think that it is worth the cost and time to search for it. I also believe that this search is the key to help fuel the goal of space exploration, science in general, and education so that we can one day go out and search for ourselves and discover the exciting interesting things the universe has set out for us. And I believe that any search for truth is worth the undertaking.
