| Personal background |
| I'm a 42 years old father, husband and graduate student. The six years spent overseas in Europe and Asian as both an expatriate and sometimes while in the armed services were some of the best so far. Nothing is better than exploring new cultures. I will do it again someday, definitely by the time I retire. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
If someone says life does not exist elsewhere in the universe, I say they have never seriously tried to understand the size of it. Although the true vastness is beyond our comprehension we can get an idea. There are 5 to 10 galaxies for every human on earth! Now try to imagine the size of just one galaxy. Ours is a disk about 100,000 light years across. Because of this size, all contact may be one way, but who cares. Just so we can prove what most of us already know. "We are not alone." Part of the reason we are such idiots is that we really think we are the center of the universe.
As for life, intelligent or otherwise, I would love to find out what is below the ice sheets of Europa. |
