| It would take a full-blown dissertation to cover all the reasons why failure to be a part of the sort of effort SETI has undertaken, should one have the opportunity, would be akin to failure as a sentient being. Extraterrestrial life IS out there. SETI is not here to determine the truth of that; SETI exists in order to find an ET's home in order to better the chances that Earthlings will stop acting like they're the only life in the universe. |
