Personal background
I guess you could call me a sci-fi junkie. I'm into computers... would like contact with "ET's" during my lifetime. I'm 38 so if they're gonna do it, they had better do it within the next few years... just so I can enjoy their company for a couple of decades. Reading, movies and sci-fi are my interests.. and playin games (whether board or computer or card games).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extraterrestrial life exists... and as far as when and how humans will discover them.. I'm not too sure that it hasn't already occurred sometime in our history/present time. Should we transmit a beacon for others to find... In some ways we already have with our tv signals and radio signals.. but I think a satellite transmitting a beacon in every direction in space would be a good thing. Personally I run Seti@home because with all the data that needs sorting and my having the computer/resources, I kinda figure I gotta help in some way... and who knows... I may be the one to find 'The Signal'... kind of a cool way to take a small place in the history books...lol..
