Personal background
For as long as I can remember, I have always felt that life existed outside our little galaxy. From the Sci-Fi I have read, to inspiring movies such as Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica.

I work for SBC Communications, Inc. In our Internet Subsidary as a Project Manager. I enjoy reading everything from JRR Tolkien "The Lord of the Rings" to Michael Crichton "Timeline."
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe extraterrestrial life exists. I would be such a lonely universe if Terra was the only life ridden planet. I feel humans will NOT discover extraterrestrial life. My believe is more that we will be introduced into a greater, larger universe at some point in the future.

There are natural benefits and dangers of such contact. Manifest Destiny destroyed American Indian civilization, it is possible that one day humans will be fighting for their very existence. The hope will be first contact with a species who have longed put past such pettines.

I feel we should provide some sort of lighthouse in our galaxy. If only to say, here we are.

I run the SETI@home project because I what little impact I can make, will mean a greater good for all.
