Personal background
I live in the remotest capital on the planet - Perth, Western Australia.
As an Associate in Hatch I have the role of Mecahnical Group Leader for Australia, with my more immediate responsibilities being the technical skills of the Mechanical Engineers in WA.
I'm a baby boomer (tail end) and my current challenge is to build a JBA sports car tourer.
We have 6 cars and six mobile phones in the house - which would give you a clue about the ages of my "children".
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I consider the concept of infinity and the part we stand on - it is more than likely that intelligent life exists beyond our horizon.
Manned space flights are not going to provide the answers.
Signal exploration is obviously one way - hence SETI
