Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have a small network of 4-6 computers running seti@home.
Many people ask me if I really think there is life else where in the
universe, the simple answer.....YES. to think we are the only life forms in the
universe is madness!! after all our life source, the Sun is but a average star
of which billions similar are out there in space. I'm not saying they will be
like us, some will be more primitive and some far more intelligent than we could imagine. Who knows??
I am not sure when we will discover ET but I am very hopeful it will be
within my life time. I don't think sending a signal out from earth is a good
idea even though we've been doing it for years with TV and radio. Call me a big
coward if you will but we don't know how advanced or aggressive other life forms
are. Maybe they would be friendly or maybe they would use us as target
practice...I think the best way is to listen and to try and find out what we can
about them first before letting them know we are here.
Anyway all you SETI@HOME users keep up the
