Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extraterrestrial life not only exists, but is common througout the galaxy, however I do not think that any form of extraterrestrial intelligence is anywhere nearby. I hope that "intelligent" (quoted because the definition of intelligent may be vastly changed depending on how life evolves elsewhere) life does exist somewhere that we can communicate.

I think that such a discovery would greatly humble the arrogance of the human race, and show that other forms of intelligence exist which have completely different conceptions of everything as we know it.

I run SETI@Home, because I find pride and joy in taking part of the largest supercomputing project in the world. It shows how powerful computers can be if their users cooperate and join together. I also don't like the idea of my computer being idle, I prefer it do do something useful when I'm not rendering :]
