Personal background
Hi fellow-E.T.searchers;I'm a native-canadian from Whse.Yukon and I hope we discover evidence of E.T. intelligence 'cause there isn't much on Earth.
I'm 38,male,and a musician by trade,which means I'm usually broke ha,ha.
I've been a sci-fi fan from day-one(my older bro is a big sci-fi freak)and I hope E.T.life is found before mine is over.I believe the idea of us being alone or unique is ridiculous and frankly a narrow-minded view that is typical of society in general.
As a musician I have done much traveling on the road and in the air but have never seen anything unusual('cept for some alien-like people)like UFO's but that doesn't mean I don't believe in paranormal things.Maybe interstellar travel is impossible but who knows what may be discovered by chance or through research in the future? As humans we are still evolving and in my mind we are still primitives who can't even look after our home-planet let alone be unleashed on some poor unsuspecting planet elsewhere in the galaxy.
Well, music is my life and enjoyment,my favourite past-time is recording mixed cd's for my own listening pleasure as I would never try to cheat a brother musician out of hard-earned dough, all my cd's are store-bought!
Well,good-luck with the search and I hope we all share in the discovery which, fingers crossed, hopefully will be soon! With any luck we will have a new form of language to help us on our way! Cheers!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.I think ET life exists but would you want to reveal yourself to us?I think I would wait awhile and see if we survive long enough to grow up.
I think when we are ready ET life will contact us,but who knows for sure?
Maybe our neighbours are already gone and waiting for us to catch-up so we better get our heads out of the sand.
A benefit to contact would be awareness of our universe,a better understanding of who or what we can be if we put our collective minds together.
A danger could be rushing a technological advancement that we couldn't handle.
A beacon is an excellent idea and should send an S.O.S cause we need help.
I run SETI@home because if there is the slightest chance of improving the human condition I'm all for it!I applaud any effort to make contact, even with ourselves. No suggestions I can think of at present.
