Personal background
Not actually a computer-nerd but just a guy who likes good performing machines and occasional overclocking experiments. I keep my PC running day and night and SETI@home runs about 90% of the time and does my little part for this great experiment.
I live in Aarhus, Denmark and I work at a engineering company as a "service assistant" which covers a variety of different job-discriptions. I am 26 years of age and live by myself in a small apartment with my computer as my main hobby. Among my other hobbies are writing poetry and another multifunctional job as an "invisible" 6th member of a band.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that with the knowledge we have today of the vastness of our universe there simply must be some form of intelligent life somewhere else than on this planet. I also believe that should we find signs of intelligent life oustide our solar system and make succesful contact it will not be such a disaster as most of the sci-fi movies emplies. I think it's a good thing to search for other forms of intelligent life because it will help us understand this universe we are all a part of.
