I'm just looking for love in all the wrong places...looking for love.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1a) Do I think life out there?
Yes, but maybe not in terms that we think it exists.
1b) Will we find anything?
I think they'll find us first.
1c) What are benefits with contact? Understanding we are not alone and getting perspective as to what or purpose is in existance.
1d) What are the dangers?
We could become new food source for hungry space travelers (what would happen if WE stumbled across a planet inhabited by twinkees?)
2. Should we broadcast signals in hopes someone hears us?
Dunno...maybe. My question is - do you leave your porch light on, the door unlocked, and a sign saying "come on it" at your house?
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
