Personal background
My name is Jeff Daniels (Not the actor who is scared of spiders)
I was first introduced to the Seti project back on its inception back in 1999 - Off and On I have loaded and Unloaded the seti screen saver on numerous times. When BOINC came about I was rather a bit skeptical. But I just cant seem to tear myself away from the thought that a signal will be heard.

Im a self taught programmer, Online before the "WorldWideWeb" existed [unix shell days, with veronica, gopher, and ARP],A linguist, Sign language certified, and entrepreneur who is self employed in the internet/e-commerce part. Oh, I make candles too. Its much more a relief instead of punching my monitor when i get frustrated.

I read tech journals like they are a kids comic books. And to top it all off I have the Drake Equation on my jacket. N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run seti@home because who knows. It could be MY machine that finds that 2nd "WOW" signal. Not that will happen but as a side effect seti@home has proven distributed computing power from millions of 'idle' systems can be put to good use.

I think the project has merit. It will continue to grow and as technology gets bigger, better, faster, and cheaper we will have to get that signal.

Thanks for looking.
Jeff
