I am a 46 year old VP at a US bank. I have worked in information technology at numerous major corporations and really enjoy the challenging aspects of this field.
I run about a thousand miles each year, I flew helicopters in the US Army, I speak relatively good German, and I love to talk, and hear others talk, about life, what we're doing here, what the human race can and should accomplish.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I believe that extraterrestial life must exist, just based on the sheer numbers involved in the probability.
I think, however, that there is only a very remote chance that we will be able to communicate with them. Nonetheless, I do feel that it is a VERY significant contribution to science to confirm the existance of ETs. This would help lay to rest the notion that space exploration would have little value and truly help open our horizons.
If we could glean from this passive contact a little understanding about their lives and challenges and aspirations, I think it would promote a better understanding of ourselves.
I would suggest that Seti@home make it possible for me to upload and download thru my firewall without having a proxy. |
