Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Im working with Seti not for the chance to find life on other planets as for the information that the Seti program is collecting about the types of Radiation being given off from other things in space, such as radio waves.
I think that there is very likely other life forms all through out the gallaxy. Just not a high chance of life that would find any need to go flying around the universe picking up people, but thats not to say that is not possible, just not likely. And honestly speaking, I hope that if there is life out there that is anything like us. I hope that they have the intellect to stay away from us untill we learn to get along or we destroy ourselves. I think that it would be a great shock one day to find them or they find us. And we are told that in the sceam of things we are a virous. An organism that destroys planets. And not this "GREAT" thing that we see ourselves as being. We talk of other life on other planets and dream of meeting them someday, while at the same time we dump our waist into the ocean killing some of the most amazing life we could ever imagin coming out of a space craft. We as a whole have no respect for life around us, not even our own kind. Why? If they are there, should we even think that we would be something that they would want to find here. Why should we think that we would ever diserve to leave for their worlds and to see the things that life had brought to them.
