Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think extraterrestrial life exists? I sure the hell hope so.

If not, we have one hell of a big backyard to play around in and dig up all sorts of things.
I think humans will probably discover intelligent life purely by accident.
We will have flown by a planet and missed something the first time and only discover it on our way back.
The benefits are great, new technologies, minerals, but the dangers I think are greater, WHY? I think this way because of mankind. There are a lot of people out there that wont accept the concept of extraterrestrial lifeforms. They would do ANYTHING to stop the people who want to meet other ets.
Yes I think humans should send a beacon or whatever else we may have to find these other ETs and in doing so, we should send messages of peace and goodwill and a way to find us in our big backyard.

Why I run the SETI program? I run this because I WANT US TO FIND OTHERS.
I'm a true believer that we are not the only ones here. If we are, "Its an awful waste of space."
My views, keep up the great work there SETI creators
