Personal background
The boss dragon lives in Eagan, MN (just 4 miles south of the Mall of America).

I\\'m an olde-tyme computer user, the first one being an MITS Altair in 1977 (anyone else remember S-100 bus interfaces??) and was co-sysop of Benden Weyr, the ONLY BBS personally approved by Anne McCaffrey to be so named. I took over operations from F\\'lar, the original sysop and continued operations until 2000 (one of the only BBSes to last into the new millenium!).

I grew up outside the metro area and used to love taking my telescope out in the wee hours of the morning and observe all the wonders of the heavens. After moving into the light dome of the twin cities I substituted actual hands-on observing with supporting causes such as astronomy and space clubs, both local and national. When I discovered the SETI@home program in 2000, it seemed like a good fit.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think the SETI program is one of man\\'s greatest adventures. We would be terribly arrogant to think that Earth is the only place with intelligent life, and SETI is one of the quickest and most cost-effective ways to discover other life-forms. I am proud to be contributing to this great venture and only hope that I will see the day when the big discovery is made!
