Personal background
Hello!
I'm a 21 years old (born 1982) astronomie student from Basel in Switzerland. I like music, football and much other things but I don't want to bore you! :-)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, I think it exists but even if we could get into some contact with them, I really don't think that we'll ever able to meet them...
ok, perhaps they know a way but....well, I think you know Einstein. :-)
Yes, I really think we should find it out. Why not?? We also examine the sea and the mountains, so why not the space.... They could tell us perhaps interessting things.
2. Hey, we try to find signals from them. And we all would be disappointed if we find nothing. So if they don't do us this favor it's not a reason for us to do it not too (Sorry, very bad english!)
The information: Hello!!! we are here! Let's come over and drink a bear and have some nice party! And take some alien-girls with you!! :-)
3. I'm not often at home but my computer is almost always on but it does nothing then. And then I found Seti@home and so my computer does somthing usefull the time I don't use it. And even if I need the computer, Seti@home doesn't need such many resources that I couldn't do anything else.
The whole project is a very good thing. So the "normal" people can do their part for science. Even if they didn't had the ambition to go to universtiy.
My suggestions would be that you should create a information-page what Seti@homes exactly does. I know you have one, but you should also create a page for advances, who are also interessed in details.
