I'm self employed at the moment but i think i might get a real job some time soon, to have a little holiday. Almost all the IT people I talk to over here pretty much know nothing about what they are supposed to be doing and it is starting to get on my nerves. It would be great to go to work and sit around chatting to people and occasionally cutting and pasting some code from someone elses program into my own. SIGH. I think I should change the subject!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI rocks. A long term project that really doesn't require you to have a particular interest in any "geeky" area to have an interest. Even the general public (when they see the screen saver) think it's a great idea! Now THAT is a feat in itself.
It looks pretty. It works well. It does something worthwhile. And best of all, it works when you don't.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
