Personal background
Me? Just a forty-something guy from Jersey with an odd affinity for old Sun hardware. I have an equally odd affinity for obsolete software and am the sole maintainer of SiMpLe MaChInEs (gopher://beaker.mdns.org), likely the only gopher server in Multnomath County, OR - my current home.

When I'm not sitting in front of a monitor, you can find me banging on strings (ukulele and banjo),on the river (kayaking), or scootering around town. Oh, and I like coffee - a lot.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does extraterrestrial life exist? It certainly seems a distinct possibility. I'd love for a discovery like this to be made during my lifetime - which is why me and my CPU cycles are here. Like Jody said, if we're all alone it's an awful waste of space!
