Personal background
Hi! I was born in 1978, in Sweden. My big interest in life has always been Science-Fiction. I have seen StarWars like a 100 times...And I can watch them still. Currently Im taking a Phc (Phi.Cand) in Computer Science. I think That Seti@home is a wonderful way to engage a multinational project, that involves just about every country in the World......

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that extraterrestrial life exists. Or maybe Douglas Addams would have said it this way. If there an infinite number of solarsystems in the galaxy, a galaxy that is so mindbogingly wast, and we bipedals, humans are so few. Split the number of humans on Earth, with the mindbogingly wast space and the infinite numbers of solar system, you should get a number that is so insignificantly small, that you can say that there are absolutely NONE, life in space. And and yet, there IS.
(Note, I dont quot Addams, just making a non-serious observasion).

About the beacon, Havent we already done that? Im thinking of Voyager, and the constant EM-interference that we submit into space regulary, 24h a day. Arent we already shouting "Here we are, dinner is served"? Lets just hope that the reciever of the message thinks, "Woa, these humans must be great, sharing their food", if not, then WE will end up as the buffe.

Im running Seti@home because, Im a fan of StarTrek and their utopia about how we should live our life on earth. maybe these United devices and Seti stuff is the right way to start. Eventually all humans MUST unite no matter if we like it or not, if we are going to survive. The humankind WILL die if not.

Best wishes
Hans-Erik Andersson
