Hello Universe! I'm a contractor and web designer/ computer graphic artist here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. As well, I am a computer lover (yes, a bit of a geek...), a holistic practitioner and a lover of the outdoors.
Currently, my system is a custom built box with a Athlon T-bird @ 1030 mHz, 768Mb of PC133 RAM, 30Gb ATA 100 Maxtor drive. Seti is processed by a 10Mb RAMdisk...and it's STILL not fast enough, darn it!!! :-)
When I started to process work units, it was on a 333mHz using the screen saver. Fortunately, I discovered the command line version and my times dropped from 20 - 22 hours to 14 hours. Now, a typical WU takes about 6.5 - 6.75 hours to complete. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I believe other civilizations DO exist...It's a little arrogant of us to think we could be the only intelligent? life in this soupy, potpourri bit of swirling mass they call the Universe, don't you think?
I think the SETI project is a wonderful gathering of people who truly do believe and it's a very strong show of force that we CAN accomplish things as a group that has one focus! Bravo to all that are involved!
So, when will we find 'them'? Perhaps the answer may be when 'they' want us too....
