Profile: Phatman

Personal background
Human male, 21 years of age, college education, interested in the possibility of making contact with extraterrestrial life... Interested in Sci-Fi in general... Keeps my mind sharp.

Actually, I'm just looking for chicks (Just kidding)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hell yes, I think Extraterrestrial life exists... I'd be a fool to think it didn't. Just taking into consideration the size of our galaxy let alone the universe, it's more than likely there are other species out there other than ourselves... It's just a matter of finding them or having them find us...

Benefits? Expansion of our knowledge of space, the universe, our own planet and how it relates to the perspective of the extraterrestrial... Just about everything... Too much to list...

Danger? We could be seen as a possible threat to the extraterrestrials survival either by just existing or a misconception because of a communication barrier and we'll get the big 'old death ray...

Sure, send out beacon... Wouldn't hurt... Send everything in a nutshell about human existence and a universal greeting much like we did in the past.

Why do I run SETI@home? 1. The government is cheaping out in a very realistic goal of making contact with another species that could bring a mutual exchange of knowledge and assistance that would reverse the damage done thus far to our planet and in return we could provide some insight and solutions to problems the extraterrestrial race might be facing... Who knows...?

Personally I think the project is kick ass....
