Personal background
Judging from the picture you'd probably think I'm a biker, eh. Well you couldn't be more wrong, it was just a picture I had at hand. Anyway, I'm currently 24, still a student, trying to join work and studies. It can be hard believe me. Especially working on various radio stations as I do. People often say, well what could be hard about talking, we all talk everyday. But it's different when you have to be really focused, funny, eloquent and God knows what else at the same time...

Otherwise I'm just a kind of a normal Slovene youg man. If going to rave parties counts as normal, anyway ;-) Yes, when there is no snow, then the rave party season is on for me. Otherwise I prefer to get up early and go snowboarding.

Ever since I left my parents and began living on my own, I realized that the motto 'carpe diem' is still very useful, despite it's age. So I do it. And while I'm at it, I'm on the lookout for the small green men, or whatever they look like.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Personally, I'd have to say that Steven Spielberg is to blame. When I was about six or seven years old, E.T. came into my life. I saw the movie three times then, and cried really hard everytime. What's it got to do with SETI? Well ever since I never ceased to believe in E.T. Only my reasoning has changed. The latest goes a bit like this.

At the University we had to study some modern literature (I study comparative literature). Upon reading some of the truly ultramodern (postmodern, hypermodern or whatever) works, I came to the conclusin that an infinite number of monkeys could really come up with not only Shakespeare, but really anything. So since there is an infinite number of planets in our Universe, I see no reason whatsoever for an infinite number of life forms. And some of these life forms must think at least a bit like us.

I hope that if this initial SETI@Home does not come up with any results the project will still continue and/or evolve into some other form... After all - our personal computers are getting better and faster. It would be a shame to waste all the CPU power!
