Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.) I have to say that if anyone on this earth does not think there is life out there other than ourselves, you must seriously think more about life and the perpetual argument of infinity and endlessness. I think, we humans might discover other E.T. but with our limited technology, I dont forsee us doing that anytime soon. We might be able to discover it through advanced research in telescopic lenses in space? Benifits....um. I think that anyother species that has developed a kind of techonolgy that can carry them throughtout space might be able to help us discover similar paths of success. Dangers...um. I guess, anyother species might have a drastic effect on our habitat? Or they might carry some disease that might wipe out all of humanity? They might be hostial, they might want us for food? I can go on and on for days about this. Its anyones guess. And anyones guess is as good as mine.
2.) Sending a beacon....ok,where do we send this beacon? The space inbetween planets and other celestrail objects is so vast its highly unlikely that any beacon will help. But, maybe we can send a beacon at the edge of our solar system and our galaxy? Information, assuming that our math corrasponds with there math, to tell them where we are by having a map of our galaxy and an arrow pointing to where we are. Otherwise, use math to tell them where we are and how very peaceful(cough, cough) we are. Assuming we dont try and shoot them down when they come.
3.) I run seti at home because if something weird is found I want to know about it. Yeah, ok....I also think that running Seti might also show others that an effort for one goal can be achived if everyone starts to think and work together. Thank you for your time.
