I currently reside in Eagan, MN, but I grew up in small town Iowa. I've been facinated with the universe since a young age when my parents bought me the "Our Universe" book. I memorized every little detail of that book, which is now probably pretty outdated. I never followed that passion into my adult life because about the time I hit 14 I found that computers intrested me even more. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I think SETI is a wonderful organization. I am constantly in awe of the size and volume of the last frontier. I firmly believe that life has to exist somewhere out there, it's just a matter of creating the technology to find it. The SETI programs are a great channel for this. From my job/life/hobbies with computers I like the thought of putting extra cycles towards a goal. Why let them sit there unused? I originally had all of my computers working on encryption breaking distributed computing programs. But the SETI program seems like a more fitting goal. |
