Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Extraterrestrial life must exist. Humans are and always will be on the verge of discovering alien life. Searching for alien life is one of those quests where almost 100% of the focus on finding it, but none of the attention is being drawn toward what will happen when we do find it.
2. As it is humans are beaming out all sorts of EM signals out into space. Might as well send out a good solid beacon. If any information should be beamed outward it should be mathematical in nature.
3. I run SETI@home because I want to have the satisfaction of not just being a believer in alien life but a proactive participant in the search for it.
