Profile: Scottatron

Personal background
My name is Scott and I am a 22 year old living in Melbourne Australia. I run this on a few PCs, my personal PCs (P4 2.8Ghz) and an AMD Athlon 64 3200 Notebook. I also run S@H on a few of my work PC's (P4 2.4Ghz, Athlon 1800 and a P4 2.0Ghz).

My personal PCs are on a wireless LAN, to which I'll be adding a P4 3.0Ghz shortly.

I joined this to help with a neverending quest to discover life outside of our own understanding of it.

Currently employed in 2nd level technical solutions.

I am a member of Overclockers Australia and urge other Aussies out there to join this great team.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given the massive size (If one can even call it that) of the universe, it would be naive to believe there is not some form of life out there somewhere.

I am absolutely positive there is life out there somewhere, however it may not be in a form we can comprehend.

As for when and how we will discover life? Perhaps once we achieve a certain level of technology, we will be contacted.

Humans have been transmitting radio signals strong enough to be detected for around 50 years, however transmitting mathematics would be a good place to start.

I run Seti@Home to feel like a part of the greater whole, of being part of a worldwide project utilising technology found in nearly every home.
