Born in Salt Lake City Utah, I have been fascinated with our place in the universe for as long as I can remember. I received my first telescope when I was 10 years old. I have owned several telescope makes and models since then, and now serve as a board member of the SFAA (San Francisco Amateur Astronomers Association). My recent personal studies include the relationship of science and religion in understanding the cosmology of the universe. It's interesting that some of our great "Sages" ideas of creation and structure match so closely to our present scientific understanding.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I began running SETI@home in 1999, but dropped out for a while due to some of the issues of running the software on my computer. The new Bionic software installed as a service is a better method for me and can now participate more fully in the project.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
