Think about the most important news stories of the past century. Attacks, accidents, disasters, etc. Good things rarely happen suddenly and rarely capture the public imagination. SETI has the power to create a world-altering event. I process SETI work units in the hope that someday I may pick up a newspaper and see something new on the front page; something wonderful.
