| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I have always believed that there had to be intelligent life out there. It doesn't make sense that we would be the only ones. I think the discovery of life on other planets is not too far off for humans. The only thing I fear is how we will respond once we make contact. Although I think we are ready to find out, I don't think we are ready to make contact. There is too much fear for the unknown/unusual in the human race. I have chosen to use SETI@home in hopes of helping to discover life out there. Maybe, if we discover extraterrestrial life, it would help mankind realize that we are not alone in the universe and that all these things that keep us divided are nonsense. It may just take such a discovery to open our eyes. |
